Rest for Awhile

The Narrative of Jesus’ Life

Jesus was known to go by himself to desolate places to pray. In the below passage, he shares this practice with his disciples.

Excerpt from the Gospel Reading

Mark 6:30 The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. 31 And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. 32 And they went away in the boat to a desolate place by themselves. Sharing your Faith

  • Why do you think apostles were so exhausted?
  • God has created each of us uniquely. How do you “recharge your batteries” when you are stressed or tired?
  • Share about a favorite place where you go to recharge your batteries.

Pray for One Another

Each person is invited to share a prayer request. Another participant will volunteer to offer the petition. Once everyone has chosen a prayer request, take turns offering the prayers aloud.
