Weekly Devotion: The Holy Spirit

The Narrative of Jesus’ Life

Jesus shares the below insights just after His “Last Supper,” just hours before His arrest and trial. Historically, this passage is part of the Gospel reading for the Day of Pentecost worship services.

Excerpt from the Gospel

John 15:26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.”

Sharing your Faith

  • How does the Holy Spirit serve as our “Helper’? (For examples consider John 14:26, Romans 8:26-27, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22.)
  • How does this passage inform us about the Trinity?
  • Share about a time you got to witness about Jesus, whether with a fellow Christian or non-Christian.

Pray for One Another

Each person is invited to share a prayer request. Another participant will volunteer to offer the petition. Once everyone has chosen a prayer request, take turns offering the prayers aloud.
