On Easter we celebrate the most important date in human history, the day God the Father reconciled the world to Himself.
Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, the world had suffered from sin. The entire world has suffered. Despite the fall, Adam and Eve’s descendants quickly demonstrated resilience and ingenuity. For example, they constructed the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11). Yet none of Adam and Eve’s descendants could overcome their sinful condition, which eternally separated us from God.
That’s why Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit. That’s why Jesus lived the perfect life in our place. That’s why Jesus gave His life for us on the cross. That’s why Easter marks the most important date in human history: When Jesus was raised from the dead, God reconciled us to Himself. Because of Jesus’ resurrection, one day we’ll experience a new heavens and new earth.
Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen! He is risen, indeed!
The Lord’s richest blessings on your celebration of Jesus’ resurrection.
